has always intrigued me, revealing the universal struggles we all face, regardless of our background. Growing up in a challenging neighborhood, I saw worry, sorrow, and fear in the painting’s figures, reflecting my own fears about the future. Despite the tough challenges ahead, I chose hope, which eventually helped me escape that environment. Years later, I revisited the painting and was inspired to photograph people, capturing how they confront their struggles. Each portrait reflects a range of emotions—curiosity, fear, resilience, and strength—revealed through their eyes and body language.
